Winter is coming...

Updated: Jan 8, 2020

As the colder months approach here in Northeast Pennsylvania one things for sure, cold and flu season starts it’s lengthy long winter route. Cue elderberry season. Recently I started making elderberry syrup for myself and turning some of it into gummies for my children, trying to boost our immune systems up for flu season. Below is a simple recipe for gummies to get your immune support you need during those seasonal changes and occasional sneezes and wheezes. 🤧

Flu Buster Gummies

1 cup Elderberry syrup(I make my own, you can find most local holistic shops carry it, or local farmers markets as well)

1/4 cup gelatin powder (you can use knox or a vegetarian 🌱 based gelatin whatever you prefer)

1/2 cup hot but not boiling water (I prefer spring water, or a purified water instead of city tap water)

Silicone or glass Gummy molds- I linked mine from amazon $8 for a 4pk

Place ¼ cup of cooled elderberry syrup in a 2 cup measuring cup and quickly whisk in the gelatin powder.

Add the ½ cup of hot (not boiling) water and stir quickly until smooth.

Add the rest of the elderberry syrup and stir or whisk until completely smooth.

Pour into molds and refirgerate for 2 hours or until completely firm.

Pop out of molds and store in airtight container.
